Quick Reflection

It has been a challenging year so far.

Today I lost my grandfather. He was an amazing man who lived until ninety three years old. He never missed a step cognitively. I am hoping to have my wits about me until the end like Grandpa. In later years I did not spend a great deal of time with him or my grandmother, but I really do love them both.

My father has had a very difficult time lately, with an open heart procedure in March and soon a lung procedure on the upper lobe. A spot was found in a PET scan on his prevous visit for heart valve replacement. I am optimistic that we will get this in the early stages and not need anymore treatment follow up.

Forward with fingers crossed...

Calm Interlude

Interesting being in Detroit these days. Very ominous calm and quiet going on here now, at least from where I am. I have done work at Ford, Chrysler, GM, and Toyota and all were very different experiences and cultures. Right now I am interested to see what goes on in June and beyond for where I am in GM. I keep fingers crossed and show up every day. The work is always interesting and the people are mostly pleasant considering the environment and the times we are in. It is almost perpetual crisis, one after another. Very different. Would like to see a shift in paradigms soon, hopefully for the better.
